Plane FORCED to turn back after mum LEAVES baby behind in terminal...

She did what?

March 12 2019

A plane was forced to turn around and make an emergency landing, after a mum on board realised she had left her baby behind in the terminal by mistake.

The jet was bound for Kuala Lumpur when the mother suddenly told airline staff that she needed to return immediately to Jeddah, Gulf News reported.

A video of the moment the pilot tells the ground crew of their plight exists and has gone viral on social media (see below).

In the clip, the pilot is heard asking air traffic control staff, “Can we come back or what?”

After noting the flight number — SV832 — the operator asks a colleague for guidance.

“This flight is requesting to come back … a passenger forgot her baby in the waiting area, the poor thing,” the pilot added.

When air traffic control asked the pilot to confirm the story, he replied: “We told you, a passenger left her baby in the terminal and refuses to continue the flight.”

The ground crew then gives the pilot of the plane permission to return to King Abdul Aziz International Airport.

“Okay, head back to the gate," he says. "This is totally a new one for us!”

The reason the mum left her baby at the terminal is unclear at the moment.

However, Fahad M. Al Barrak, who shared the original audio of the incident on Twitter, claimed the mother hadn’t simply left her baby at the terminal alone.

He claims the baby had been left with its sister who had boarded the wrong bus at the terminal and had missed the flight.

When the mother realised the pair hadn’t made the flight, she insisted the plane turn round, Mr Al Barrak claimed.

Listen to the audio here - from around the 40 seconds mark -  to hear the pilot describe why they need to return to the airport.
