More than 2,000 people have been evacuated from a Sydney Westfield shopping centre after a fire broke out in the car park.
Fire crews are currently on the scene in Liverpool, in Sydney's south-west.
A spokesman from NSW Fire and Rescue said three crews responded to the fire in a rubbish bin which broke out in the undercover car park attached to the shopping centre at 9:15am on Tuesday.
The blaze is now extinguished, but two crews are 'carrying out a salvage and overhaul' of the area.
Westfield released a statement saying, 'We apologise for the inconvenience experienced this morning during our centre evacuation.
'The pink level carpark remains closed, however the remainder of the centre has been declared safe, and has resumed for trade,' it read.
Christmas shoppers fled the scene but now that it is re-opened, some say it's best avoiding at all costs.
'It’s packed outside trying to get in the carpark, chaos out there,' she wrote.
