Inside Meghan's $37k hospital maternity suite - with champagne and lobster dinner!

Fancy!

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were hoping for a home birth for their first-born baby, it's now been reported that Meghan was driven to the luxurious Portland Hospital in London late on Sunday evening, before giving birth to a baby boy just hours later.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry declined to reveal their birthing plan to the world (quite right!) but it was widely thought that if Meghan could not give birth naturally at home, she would got to a local but exclusive hospital in Windsor called Frimley Park.

However, it's now been reported that the couple chose the celebrity-favourite and luxurious Portland Hospital - where Victoria Beckham gave birth to all of her children.

And with lobster dinners, champagne-on-demand and four-poster baby cots, it certainly lives up to its A-lister reputation!

Celebs including Liz Hurley, Jools Oliver and the Duchess of York, were just some of the posh mums who chose to give birth in one of the most exclusive hospitals in London.

The hospital has the very exclusive Dragons of Walton Street baby homewares, provide a range of baby cots, including a $6,500 Moses basket decorated with lace and hand-cut glass crystals, and a four-poster Little Duchess cot, which would set you back £18k.

"It’s like having a holiday," explained Janene Madden, former CEO of The Portland Hospital.

"After two to three days you leave fit and well."

But Meghan didn't stay the night in the top-notch hospital, choosing to leave hours after the birth so she could go home.

It's believed Meghan arrived at the Portland Hospital late on Sunday evening, before having her baby at 5.26am, with Prince Harry and her mum, Doria Ragland right by her side.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment, but sources confirmed that a hospital delivery had taken place, but she was now with the baby boy back at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
