Husband is still unaware his wife, sister and un-born twin sons have died

This is so sad

October 01 2018

A father-to-be is fighting for his life in hospital, totally unaware his wife, sister and un-born twin sons have died after a tragic car accident.

Bronko Hoang, 25, who was due to be with his wife Katherine as she gave birth in just a few days was driving the family in Sydney's west when he was hit by a car driven by Richard Moananu.

Moananu, 29, has been charged with 10 offences including negligence, unlicensed driving, two counts of manslaughter and aggravated dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm. He could be charged with a further two counts of manslaughter if police take into account the deaths of both un-born twin boys.

It has been alleged Moananu was unlicensed, on the wrong side of the road and travelling 45kmh over the speed limit at the time of the crash.

He will appear in Penrith Local Court on Thursday.

Katherine - known as Kate - and Bronko were married in May after they met at Western Sydney University Taekwondo Club. They were due to welcome their twins in the next few days which has added an extra layer of sadness to the tragedy.

Tom Cross, a university friend, said Kate was smart, brilliant, funny, kind, loving friend who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Hearing of her passing along with two unborn twins is a senseless loss beyond words.'

Friends are hoping Bronko pulls through - but he is currently in a serious condition in hospital.
