It's a rusk, but not as you know it. So are these Baby Mum-Mum Vegetable Rice Rusks all they are crackered up to be?

Chew on this: Tell us about it?

I started offering these to my daughter, Leyla, from about 6 months of age until she was 18 months old. Leyla absolutely loved them. They are just a plain rice cracker that melts in their mouth. I didn’t have to worry about choking or the fact that she didn’t have teeth initially because it melted straight away.

Bite size: How did you use it?

They’re light weight and single serve portions which are great to just slip in your bag for an on-the-go snack. If it did get knocked about in the bag, it didn’t matter – it just breaks up into smaller sized crackers which are easy for little ones to hold anyway.

They don’t require refrigeration either, so were good for summer snacks. Or to distract her!

Leyla only ate the plain flavoured Baby Mum-Mum vegetable rice rusks. They do banana, too, but she didn’t like that one. We would occasionally add peanut butter to the rice rusks for added protein, too.

On the menu: Would you recommended it to other mums?

Definitely. The Baby Mum-Mum Vegetable Rice Rusks are a great and easy snack. While that aren’t highly nutritious, they have a different texture to puree so are good to add into the first foods mix.
