Emma and Lachey’s first appearance since split

In their first public appearance since news of their split broke a few days ago, Emma and Lachlan have visited Macquarie University for the new Emma TV series.

The couple posed together with fellow Wiggle Anthony Field and staff from the University, and although they stood side-by-side, they looked a little strained and kept a short distance apart.

After announcing they were separating after just two years of marriage, the couple were quick to assure fans that they would continue to work together.

Emma and Lachlan have claimed that their friendship 'strengthened' since starting their trial separation in February, in an interview with the Daily Telegraph.

No longer touring as husband and wife was 'a very positive change in [their] relationship', they said.

The former couple say they will continue to perform in The Wiggles alongside fellow band members Simon Pryce and Anthony Field.

'Please know we are stronger than ever and can't wait to see you at a show soon,' they concluded.
