A Brisbane woman has been sentenced to 10.5 years in jail for stabbing a 51-year-old man who allegedly broke into her house and raped her.
Roxanne Peters claimed the man sexually assaulted her then threatened to harm her eight-year-old daughter if she didn’t submit to him again.
The 35-year-old stabbed the man fatally in the heart, then tied his body to her car and dragged him 1.6km down the road, leaving him in a ditch.
Peters was sentenced to nine years in jail for manslaughter and a further 18 months after she pleaded guilty to interfering with his corpse.
Justice David Boddice told the rape and humiliation, followed by the threats to harm her child, had been a 'significant provocation' for Peters.
With time served she will be eligible for parole in June 2020.
