See what happens: The beautiful moment a blind and autistic boy meets Santa for the first time

It's just lovely...

December 12 2018

The mum of a blind and autistic little boy took to Facebook to write about the "best Santa ever" after her son’s Christmas trip to visit him.

Misty Wolf took her six-year-old son, Matthew, to meet Santa but had no idea how beautiful the visit would be. She admitted on Love What Matters that she was nervous as they waited in line.

Matthew was born at 24 weeks premature and sadly his twin brother didn’t survived the birth.

He spent 111 days in emergency care where he developed stage five retinopathy of prematurity “due to the amount of oxygen he was given to survive”. Doctors feared he wouldn’t walk or talk.

He is now legally blind in both eyes and has autism.

As they approached Santa, Misty whispered to him that her son "is blind and autistic and is very interested in Santa".

“He said, ‘Say no more,’ and immediately got down on the floor to greet my little man."

Matthew and Santa interacted for a long time with Santa even telling Matthew “to pull his beard, feel his hat and talk about his red suit".

"He asked Matthew if he wanted to feel anything," Misty said.

"Matthew said, ‘Your eyes that twinkle,’ so, Santa let him touch all over his eyes for as long as Matthew wanted."

Awww.

Then he asked, "have you ever felt a real reindeer?"

"Santa then carried him over to the display area," Misty said.

"And had Matthew pet the reindeer they had set up.

"It was great. My heart was full seeing Matthew so interested.

"Best Santa ever!"

Misty's story has now gone viral as hundreds were moved to tears by the care and concern Santa took with little Matthew.

'This is what Christmas is all about,' said one commenter
