Outrage as mum's C-section scar photo is BANNED on Instagram

A mummy blogger was shocked when she posted a photo of her c-section scar to Instagram, only to have it swiftly removed.

Bestselling author Anna Whitehouse shared the image with 187,000 followers on her Mother Pukka Instagram page on Friday night.

“The photo I uploaded last night of my c-section scar got deleted,” she wrote.

“I was fairly careful not to flash gusset. And post-operative scarring tissue isn’t my idea of X-rated material.”

Her photo talking about the alleged censorship has had nearly 7000 likes and she has encouraged fellow mums to share their scar by using the hashtag #lineofduty.

@mother_pukka recently had her csection scar photo removed by Instagram after complaints that it was offensive 🤷🏻‍♀️ So in retaliation, here is mine!!! 4 months fresh!! Never in a zillion years did I think I would show this to the world, but i am angry that people could possibly take offence at something so amazing. This is a 4 time c section scar- you don't see all that many of those kicking about in your feed. And I am proud of it because it brought all 4 of my babies safely into this world. Other mums were quick to rally around, saying there was nothing wrong with showing off her post-baby body, scars and all.

“Unbelievable. Nothing wrong with the picture. My tummy and scar looks the same,” wrote one.

“What an absolute load of sh*t this kind of thing makes me beyond angry. Keep doing what you’re doing you amazing woman,” wrote another.

“My post 4 csection scar which is currently 4m PP is a sight to behold 😂 but I am super proud of it and it’s little overhang of loose skin because it brought 4 healthy babies into the world so I shall proudly wear my bikini on holiday and zero Fs shall be given.”

Many women have now taken to Instagram to share photos of their own c-section scars in protest.

According to Instagram guidelines, nudity is not permitted, however photos of post-mastectomy scarring and women actively breastfeeding are allowed.
