“I lost 50kg - just by walking"

What a transformation!

October 24 2018

Mum of two, Lorah Chetcuti, lost half her own body weight in just 18 months – by walking!

When she was on the cusp of turning 40, Lorah weighed 120.5kg and decided she wanted to start her fourth decade in better shape.

Great Wall of China half marathon. 1 year ago, and 30kgs heavier. Never quit trying.

Her own mum had died at 35 and with two young boys and a business to run, Lorah knew she couldn’t continue the way she had been.

With the help of her personal trainer Joseph, from Vision Personal Training, Lorah lost 25kg in her first year of training, completed a 90km cycle from Sydney to Wollongong, and a Great Wall of China half marathon.

What a week! A Birthday, an ( vision pt) anniversary, a win with #visionconnect and winning 1st place at #ICN QLD transformation event ( under 2 yrs) at the fitness expo. Couldn't be happier. She began by walking whenever she could, doing laps of the park during her kids' soccer training, and going for long walks with girlfriends. She also monitored her food intake through an app. She still has treats, but just avoids starchy rice and carbs after 2pm, sticking to protein, salad and veggies instead.

The Greenacre mum lost 25kg in the first year. She said but it wasn’t an overnight success but she was determined to get fit and healthy. She says that joining walking groups and working with a personal trainer helped her to keep accountable.

“Those bad days, that you make the breakthroughs, and realise that, I'm glad I trained today because I feel so much better,” she says.

Blackmores Marathon. 42.2km. Thanks to those that helped me train, and supported and encouraged me all the way. Was great to see the cheer squad at the finish line too.
