Mum arrested after blaming baby’s brutal death on her toddler

Just awful

A mother of two had been arrested after she tried to blame her newborn daughter's grisly death on her three-year-old son.

Halle Marie Murry, 25, from Texas, allegedly told police that her six-week-old died after a freak accident caused by her son, but after further investigation police determined the woman allegedly lied about the incident to cover up her own actions.

The woman took both children to hospital in January and told hospital staff that she’d fallen asleep with her daughter Acelyn lying on her chest, then woke to find the baby’s lifeless body on the floor, with her son standing over her.

She told medical staff that she believed her son had attacked his sister with a metal fidget spinner.

One of the doctors treating the little girl said she had one of the “worst skull fractures” he had ever seen and added that “there is no way a 3-year-old could have caused” that amount of damage to the girl’s skull, reports Fox News.

A forensic interview was also done with the 3-year-old, and a doctor who watched his interactions with a doll that resembled his sister said he “did not demonstrate the dexterity or force to cause the extensive head injuries” to his sister.

It was also noted that the woman’s story had inconsistencies and she changed the details several times.

Child Protective Services did a drug test on both the woman and her son and found cocaine in both their systems.

Halle Marie Murry was charged with capital murder after the medical examiner found that the baby had died from blunt force trauma to the head.
