READ HERE: Meghan's heartbreaking letter to her dad

She begs him to stop talking to the media

February 06 2019

Meghan Markle wrote an emotional letter to her dad, begging him to 'victimising' her, after he kept selling stories to the press.

Five of her close friends have banded together to talk to People magazine to reveal just how devastated Meghan is by the behaviour of her dad, saying they fear for her emotional well-being while she's pregnant.

Shortly after her wedding to Prince Harry, Meghan wrote to her dad,

'Dad, I'm so heartbroken. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can repair our relationship,'

The five female friends, reported to be in Meghan's innermost circle, say Thomas then responded in a long letter of his own, in which he asked his daughter to appear in a photo shoot with him.

Thomas was caught selling various stories to the media to make money in the lead up to her wedding. As a result, he didn't walk his daughter down the aisle at the royal wedding in May 2018 and stayed in Mexico.

'She feels like, 'That's the opposite of what I'm saying. I'm telling you I don't want to communicate through the media, and you're asking me to communicate through the media. Did you hear anything I said?'' they said.

Since her relationship with Harry became public in 2016, Meghan has been the subject of intense scrutiny but her friends say her dad is nowhere to be seen.

“He knows how to get in touch with her,” adds the longtime friend. “He’s never called; he’s never texted. It’s super-painful," say her five friends, who include at least one former co-star.

'I think she will always feel genuinely devastated by what he has done,' they told the magazine.

In December, Thomas Markle spoke exclusively with The Mail about the 'wall of silence' he said he faced from Meghan and Prince Harry, since their wedding. He insists he made 'dozens of attempts to reach his daughter via texts and letters' but that every effort to get in touch had been ignored.

The friends also told the magazine that Meghan's siblings have also upset her by making out that they have been cast aside since she became a royal.

But they say that's not the truth at all.

Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, and her dad, Thomas, split when she was 2 years old. Her half-siblings, Samantha and Thomas Markle Jr. (from Thomas’ previous marriage), were in their mid-to late teens when Meg as born and “not a part of her life,” the friend continues.

“They’ve been made to appear as siblings who were very close and then they had this falling out, and that’s not the truth at all. “Fast way forward to Meghan dating Harry, and now Samantha is going by the last name Markle [after long using the name Grant]. And then she began this career capitalizing on Meg. Everyone who knows Meg knows that the two of them have no relationship.”
