Mama June Reveals Honey Boo Boo’s Horrific Birth Story
Opening up about the physical and emotional scars she still bares

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo star and family matriarch Mama June Shannon has revealed the physical and emotional scars she still bares following the births of her four children.
Appearing on US reality show Botched, the 36-year-old sought the help of doctors Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif to remove the build up of scar tissue that developed after four C-sections. But it was the bombshell she dropped next that had the doctors absolutely reeling.
Dr Dubrow and Dr Nassif were left in total disbelief as the reality star revealed she was advised by her former doctor to undergo a tummy tuck following each of her four births – the last of which was 10 years ago.
"What has happened is with my last child, which is Honey Boo Boo, that doctor at that time told me that one, a tummy tuck was not done every time after each surgery like it should have been done," she began, before the visibly concerned and confused doctors interjected that tummy tucks should never be performed immediately after childbirth.
"You would never do a tummy tuck on someone who just delivered a baby. The uterus is very large and distended, and you could never get the muscles tightened over the uterus," Dr Dubrow explained. "So it’s probably the worst time to ever consider a tummy tuck. It’s never done."
Mama June also went on to reveal that youngest daughter Alana Thompson – better known as Honey Boo Boo – has two scars on her head after the doctor cut too deep while performing the C-section, slicing into the infant’s skin in the process.
"When Alana was born 10 years ago, there’s so much scar tissue right here that the doctor, he didn’t know how deep to go down and that’s why he ended up cutting Alana’s head open twice," she winced.
Again, the doctors were appalled, with Dr Nassif telling the camera: "In all my life, I’ve never heard of a C-section where a scalpel goes too deep and actually slices into a baby’s forehead or even touches a baby. How does that happen? What type of doctor did this?"
