In our tenth biannual Cost of Love survey, which involved over 1,000 engaged and recently married Australian women, it was revealed that couples are spending an average of $41,524 on their wedding reception alone. With many Aussies willing to splash out big bucks for the one day, we're sure you're wondering how much they're willing to spend on their honeymoon – a once-in-a-lifetime holiday before settling back into the realities of married life.
According to the results, newlyweds are dishing out $8,068 on an average 2.5-week long honeymoon. This figure represents a decrease of 4 per cent in the last two years.
Beach vacations still remain the most popular choice (46%), with the South Pacific Islands being the favourite international honeymoon destination.
