Em Rusciano quits her radio job because of her pregnancy

Her family comes first...

September 03 2018

Due to welcome her third child, a baby boy, early next year, Em will leave the Em, Grant & Ed radio show on 2Day FM to focus on her family.

She said in a statement: "The truth is when I found out I was pregnant, I made my mind up on the spot that this year would be my last year of breakfast radio. I had intended to work through until December, but as my pregnancy is progressing I’m finding it increasingly harder to fulfil the requirements of my job. So after talking it through with my family, and my boss Gemma, it was decided that I should finish up.

"I want to thank everyone who listened right from the start, however you consumed our show - be it podcast, Facebook videos or listening to us live, I appreciate it. I still marvel that people actively choose to let me into their lives for a small portion of their day. That’s my favourite part of this job, and something I sometimes forget that’s even happening when I’m sitting in that small studio talking into a stick.''

Em, 39, is already the mother of two girls—Marchella, who is 16, and Odette, 11—to partner of 18 years, Scott Barrow.

"We just went through what a lot of marriages go through, you go through 10 years of hell, and if you can get out the other side with decent respect for one another, then it’s smooth sailing," she told WHO about her relationship with Scott. "We had been together for six or seven years, and it started getting really hard at that seven-year mark. Then we hit that bit where a lot of people would just have got divorced."

So I'm leaving the radio. It's happy and sad, but entirely my choice and this Friday will be my last show. I've explained my reasons in this weeks blog. It's there in my bio if you wanna read it. Here I am with the boys, yes I did buy my own farewell card but to be fair they were not going to top this one. #FarnhamFarewell
