Coronavirus: two-month-old baby and seven-year-old test positive

Baby positive after contact with infected adult

Editor / March 24 2020

A two-month-old baby boy has tested positive after contact with an infected adult.

Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said the baby boy was tested following close contact with an adult who had been diagnosed with the virus.

The seven-year-old girl who has tested positive also had contact with an adult.

Both cases are in New South Wales and are the youngest children diagnosed with the virus to date in NSW. Previously the youngest was 12-years-old.

There are over 1000 cases of coronavirus in New South Wales, and over 2000 nationally.
