Cameron Diaz on parenting baby Raddix during quarantine

"It’s the best, best, best part of my life"

April 16 2020

Three-and-a-half months after welcoming her daughter Raddix with husband and musician Benji Madden, actress Cameron Diaz has opened up about how the new addition to their family has changed her and her husband’s life.

In an Instagram Live video with Who What Wear CEO Katherine Power, the famously private new mum gushed over her new role, calling motherhood the “best, best, best part” of her life. “I love being a mother," she shared. "I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled."

As for how the new quarantine measures have affected the family of three, Diaz admitted that there haven’t been many changes to their regular routine, revealing that her life has been somewhat of a quarantine since Raddix arrived.

“I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a three-month-old or a three-and-a-half-month old. So my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months. But I was able to have my friends over all the time. And now I just don’t see anybody.”

The Charlie’s Angels star continued, sharing that her and husband Benji had mastered their new daily routine, with the musician in charge of putting Raddix to bed every night. “He’s such an amazing father,” she said. "I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy. He’s so incredible. He puts her down and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is.”

Diaz and Madden announced the birth of their daughter earlier in the year, expressing their excitement but also explaining that they would not be sharing any photos or details “other than the fact that she is really really cute” with their followers.
